As an adult, she found herself working in the wellness department of a co-op and realized that making herbal recommendations wasn't enough-she wanted to make a bigger impact on people's health. After being amazed at how well acupuncture and Chinese herbs worked for her sinus infections, she enrolled immediately and knew she was on the right path.
Sophia found a dramatic lifestyle change when she fully immersed herself into Chinese Medicine. The effects it has had on her lifestyle, body and mind are obvious. This medicine is transformative. Listening to the natural rhythms of the body and gently guiding it into balance has become her passion. She believes that wellness and balance are attainable for everyone.
In her personal life, she spends time doing yoga, reading tarot, cooking healthy food, and enjoying art and music. Her dog, Fergie, is the light of her life.
Sophia graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 2017 with a Master’s Degree in Chinese Medicine. Post graduation she has had additional training in cranial sacral, reiki, cosmetic acupuncture, autoimmune acupuncture, H.A.R.T. method/Maya Abdominal Therapy and reading Akashic Records. While in school, she had internships working with non-profits; Aliveness Project, Pillsbury House and Pathways- all located in Minneapolis. She worked in UMMC Riverside with post-surgery patients and expectant mothers. Working with the elderly in assisted living was a joy. She also studied in Zhengzhou, China at Henan TCM University where she was able to observe hospital shifts and witness doctors seamlessly combining Eastern and Western medicine.
